As Director of Voice and Choral Studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Gail has built highly regarded Voice and Choral programs. Voice students from Kwantlen have gone on to perform on concert and opera stages throughout North America and Europe. In addition to teaching voice, Gail conducts the University Chorus, the Kwantlen Chamber Singers and teaches Conducting and Pedagogy courses. Most recently, a new Opera Workshop Ensemble has been added to the performing opportunities for voice students at Kwantlen. The choir, founded in 2004 as gospel choir in residence at Christ Church Cathedral, is directed by founding artistic director Gail Suderman. With her reputation as an outstanding voice teacher and conductor, Gail brings with her the ability to guide singers in finding their voices as well as her skill in directing a gospel choir that is known for vocal and musical integrity. Known in both the classical and contemporary music communities as an outstanding performer, conductor, accompanist and voice teacher, Gail brings many years of formal music studies as well as many years of performing experience to her role as leader of Good Noise.
Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir, regarded as a leader in the gospel choir movement in Canada, is known for its dynamic vocal sound, excellence in performance and a commitment to sharing the “good noise” that is gospel music. In the few short years of the choir’s existence, Good Noise has become the “go to” choir, receiving many requests for special performances, both live and on television and radio. Good Noise has performed with artists such as Barbra Streisand, David Foster, Josh Groban, Daniel Lapp, Dee Daniels, Jim Byrnes, John Lee Sanders, Jennifer Scott, Karin Plato, Kate Hammett-Vaughan, and has appeared on CBC Radio, Global TV, CityTV, Bravo, Knowledge Network and Vision TV.
In 2012-2013, Good Noise received a Canadian Gospel Music Award nomination for their debut CD "Glory To The Newborn King", was voted "Best Choir" in the Vancouver Courier's Reader's Choice Awards and was selected to perform a televised concert for a new TV series entitled "Gospel to Go" for Vision TV. In 2013-2014 the choir will celebrate its 10th Anniversary Season, welcoming gospel singer Crystal Hicks as Artist In Residence. www.goodnoisevgc.com
